What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Sydney Local Health District's Public Health Unit Trainee (non-STP) role is to gain broad exposure to Public Health Medicine and develop skills and expertise in a range of public health functions, including communicable diseases, environmental health, epidemiology, emergency management, and immunization.  

Please note that these positions may be accredited for training with the Royal Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine for eligible applicants. This is a full-time position based within the PHU for the entire duration of the contract.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. At least 3 years' postgraduate clinical experience.
  3. Knowledge of and interest in public health medicine and epidemiology.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to working within multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Commitment to addressing health inequity and strengthening cultural competence.
  7. Ability to demonstrate the CORE Values of NSW Health, namely Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
