The Clinical Pharmacology Trainee is involved in direct patient care (Toxicology), clinical consultative work (Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, clinical consultations and requests for information concerning aspects of drug therapy) and promotion of safe and effective use of medicines. Configurations of training which combine Clinical Pharmacology training with training in Clinical Research or Chemical Pathology (possible dual RACP and RCPA recognition) are available as part of the Trainee position.

St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (SVHN) forms part of the NSW region of St Vincent’s Health Australia which is the largest diversified health care organisation within Australia’s not for profit and Catholic health care sectors. SVHN comprises some of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious hospitals; these include St Vincent’s Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospice. What you'll be doing 

The Advanced Trainee is a key person who works closely with all members of staff and must: 

  • Work as part of, and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team. 

  • Deal with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature. 

  • Exercise discretion and sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality. 

  • Demonstrates leadership within a team environment and actively contribute to team activities including meetings and decision making processes. 

 

The Advanced Trainee is required to communicate at a high level with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The Trainee needs to display sound communication skills to deal effectively with administrative and medical staff. 


 

    1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
    2. Completion of a minimum of four(4) postgraduate years
    3. Applicants should be registered with the RACP and Specialty Training Committee in Clinical Pharmacology or equivalent College Specialty Training Committee to be registered. Applicants should have obtained the Part 1 FRACP or equivalent College Part 1 qualifications
    4. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills as well as interest in teaching and research
    5. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise
    6. Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team
    7. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the philosophies, mission and values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries
