About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join the Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU) as part of the administrative team in the Fertility Unit at RPAH. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional, integrated, person-centred care.
 
In this role, you will provide vital administrative support, manage patient interactions, and contribute to the smooth daily operations of the Fertility Unit. Key responsibilities include coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate records, assisting with the department’s day-to-day operations, and liaising with medical staff to support the delivery of high-quality care.
 
Strong administrative and customer service skills are essential, and a background in healthcare or a related setting is highly desirable. Your ability to communicate effectively and compassionately will help create a welcoming and supportive environment for both patients and staff. A sophisticated use of Microsoft Office is a must with familiarity of hospital booking and billing systems preferred. A willingness to learn, to do what has to be done, a lean to detail and a natural contributor to a sophisticated workplace culture, will be the keys to your success in this role. 
 
The RPAH Fertility Unit operates as a unique public-private partnership with Genea, offering accessible and high-quality IVF services. This position is part of the Women and Babies Ambulatory Service, within the centralised ACBU.

Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to work to support a Head of Department, independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external customers both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in an administrative setting with established high level computer literacy and typing skills, including experience with dictaphone transcribing equipment or software, with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
