About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated administrative professional to join the Dermatology Department at RPAH. This busy clinic supports a range of general and subspecialty dermatology services focused on patient-centred care, innovation, and collaboration. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support, manage patient interactions, and help ensure smooth daily operations. Key duties include coordinating appointments, maintaining records, and liaising with medical staff to support high-quality care. Strong administrative and customer service skills are essential, with a healthcare background highly desirable. Effective and compassionate communication will help foster a welcoming environment for patients and staff.

  

Although this role is based in the Dermatology Ambulatory Service, it sits within the Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU), which oversees the centralised administrative workforce across all Ambulatory Care services at RPAH.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has practical experience with or understanding of Medicare billing in a public hospital.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to work under pressure, maintaining attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of policies and procedures within NSW Health and how these apply in the workplace in particular, the importance of patient confidentiality.
