Where you'll be working:
Join the Clinical Governance team, where you'll play an important role in supporting initiatives that improve patient safety, quality of care and clinical excellence across Hunter New England Local Health District.
Working alongside a collaborative and supportive team, you'll provide essential administrative support that helps ensure the department operates efficiently while contributing to projects and processes that ultimately make a difference to patient care.
About the role:
As the Administrative Officer, you'll be the backbone of the Clinical Governance team, providing a broad range of administrative and secretariat support across the department.
No two days will be the same. You'll coordinate day-to-day administrative activities, provide secretariat support to a Clinical Governance Board subcommittee, assist the Patient Safety team, manage payroll and purchasing functions, coordinate meetings and travel, maintain records, and support the smooth running of the office.
Reporting to the Executive Assistant – Clinical Governance, you'll receive comprehensive orientation and ongoing training, including specialised systems training, to help you build confidence and succeed in the role.
About you:
You're an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering high-quality support. You can juggle competing priorities, communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, and have a keen eye for detail.
You'll also bring:
- Experience providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Experience preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes and providing committee or secretariat support (desirable).
- A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
