About the role

  • Play a vital role in supporting patient care by accurately managing, tracking, and retrieving medical records across the hospital, including Emergency, inpatient wards, and outpatient services.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of patient information by maintaining electronic and paper medical records in accordance with hospital policies, legislation, and medico-legal requirements.
  • Prepping and scanning patient records into the Scanned Medical Record (SMR)
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the efficient flow of clinical information, contributing to high-quality patient care and continuity of services.
  • Enjoy a dynamic and varied role within a supportive Health Information Services team, providing cross-functional support across the department, including occasional weekend shifts and records management activities.

 

About you

  • A motivated and detail-oriented administrator with experience in clerical, records management, or healthcare administration environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide professional and responsive service to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience using patient administration systems such as CorePas (or similar), with confidence navigating multiple systems and maintaining data integrity.
  • A team player who demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in line with the values of St Vincent’s Health Australia.
