Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a customer-focused and highly organised Administration Officer to join our Medical Imaging team at Tamworth Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment where your professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to patient-centred care will contribute directly to the experience of patients and their families.

 

About the Role

As an Administration Officer within Medical Imaging, you will provide efficient and effective administrative support to a busy department delivering essential diagnostic imaging services to the Tamworth community and surrounding region.

Working within a supportive team of eight administration professionals and alongside 23 Radiographers and multidisciplinary staff, you will be the first point of contact for patients, carers and referrers, ensuring a welcoming and compassionate experience while maintaining high standards of customer service.

This casual position operates across a seven-day roster with shifts scheduled between 7:30am and 6:30pm, offering flexibility while supporting the operational needs of the department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional reception and customer service support.
  • Managing patient bookings and appointment coordination.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and data entry.
  • Responding to enquiries from patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the Medical Imaging Department.
  • Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient service delivery.

 

About You

You are a motivated and adaptable professional who enjoys working in a busy environment and thrives on delivering excellent customer service. You bring strong communication skills, a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to supporting patients during their healthcare journey.

Experience in a healthcare or Medical Imaging environment will be highly regarded.

Tamworth Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service to the New England North West community. Supported by experienced Radiographers, administration staff and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, our team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.
