About the role
The Administration Officer is an integral member of the Cowra Community Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Service, providing high-quality administrative and clerical support to the Manager and multidisciplinary team. The role contributes to the efficient and effective operation of the service by coordinating administrative processes, maintaining accurate records, managing communications, and supporting day-to-day service delivery to ensure the needs of clients and staff are met in a professional and timely manner.

This position is based in the vibrant community of Cowra, a regional town renowned for its award-winning wineries, picturesque countryside, beautiful parks and gardens, scenic walking and cycling trails, quality sporting facilities, and strong sense of community. The Cowra Community Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Service is an innovative and client-focused service that provides high-quality care and support for people experiencing mental health challenges and substance use issues. The service maintains strong collaborative partnerships with health professionals and community organisations across the region, supporting integrated care and positive outcomes for consumers, their families, and carers.

The Administration Officer position operates Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 5:00pm. The role offers exposure to a broad range of administrative, clinical support, and customer service functions within a busy rural Community Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Service. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will gain valuable experience supporting the delivery of mental health services across the community. The service is further supported by tertiary inpatient mental health services in Orange and the wider Bathurst Hub providing access to specialist expertise and a comprehensive continuum of care for consumers across the region.

Orientation for the Administration Officer position at Cowra Community Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Service will be comprehensive and tailored to the individual learning and support needs of the successful applicant. A structured induction program will be provided to ensure familiarity with administrative systems, organisational policies and procedures, and service operations, enabling the successful candidate to confidently undertake their role within the multidisciplinary team.
