What you'll be doing
As an Acute Care Social Worker, you will provide professional social work assessment, intervention and support to patients, families and carers. You will exercise professional judgement, contribute to team-based care and support positive outcomes for people experiencing complex life circumstances.
Provide comprehensive social work assessment and intervention
Support patients and families experiencing complex psychosocial issues
Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health teams
Provide education and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Participate in clinical supervision, professional development and student supervision

Essential Criteria
Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated clinical experience or understanding of the needs of clients accessing the health care system.
Demonstrated understanding of issues associated with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse client group.
Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of quality assurance and / or clinical practice improvement activities.
Ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On Call Social Work Service.
