What you'll be doing
The Department focuses on addressing the unique nutritional needs of children, from neonates through to adolescents, across a wide range of clinical areas.
Our principal aim is to optimise the growth and nutritional status of children with chronic and complex medical conditions.
The role of Allied Health Assistant is to support dietitians in achieving the nutritional goals of inpatients. This includes preparing oral and enteral feeds in the sterile Formula Room, providing individualised menus, and assisting patient with meal selection. This support extends to patients requiring therapeutic diets as part their treatment. Additionally, the Allied Health Assistant contributes to the delivery of clinical care for inpatients, under the guidance of the supervising dietitian.

- Completion of a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or an equivalent undergraduate qualification in food and nutrition or relevant work experience, with a willingness to work towards formal certification
- Experience working with infants, children and their families
- Proven ability to effectively prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Sound computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft office and email applications
