What you will bring to the role

  1. This is an identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position and, as such, applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in their local community, and possess the requisite cultural knowledge. NBMLHD considers that being Aboriginal is genuine occupational qualification under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
  2. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as health promotion, sexual health, population health, or education and experience working in sexual health, blood borne viruses and/or youth health promotion.
  3. Sound knowledge of Aboriginal sexual health needs and issues and the individual and social impacts of blood borne viruses and STIs.
  4. Demonstrated ability and experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based community education projects and initiatives.
  5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, teamwork, written and oral communication skills and high-level computer literacy.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with community, government and non-government organisations to achieve outcomes in health promotion.
  7. Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills.
  8. Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.


Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
