At Macarthur Community Mental Health, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting Aboriginal families and individuals to access mental health care. In this role, you’ll walk alongside people during their mental health journey, ensuring care is culturally safe, providing guidance and advocacy, and connecting them to the right supports both within services and back in community. Your work will help our mob feel seen, heard, and respected during challenging times. You’ll also play a key role in strengthening Aboriginal engagement, improving cultural and clinical outcomes, and promoting cultural responsiveness among clinicians and community services. From building strong relationships with community organisations and Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) to assisting with mental health promotion and connecting people to ongoing supports, your contribution will create lasting impact.

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

1. In this role being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement. Tell us about your mob and connection to culture?  
2. Willingness and ability to complete further education in Mental Health or relevant qualification (refer to position description)? 
3. Tell us about a time you supported Aboriginal individuals, families, or communities in a culturally respectful way. How did you include cultural perspectives and work with others while following the right processes? 
4. How have you engaged with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and improve access to culturally appropriate services? 
5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
