Dubbo has the highest concentration of people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander outside of Western Sydney - and they really need your support.

As a transition to practice role in Men’s business, we champion experienced and highly motivated male Aboriginal health workers via an established supportive program to gain their qualification and become Aboriginal health Practitioners (AHPs). Being male is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW).
You’ll use your experience within the wider health system to ensure Aboriginal people with are given their best chance to live holistically well, working closely with hospitals and Aboriginal health workers, local GPs, Aboriginal medical services, and broader health and social care programs provided within our District. You will be the central point of co-ordination across physical health, social and emotional wellbeing community services.
You will be involved in identifying, designing and implementing new and innovative community-based models of care to improve experiences and outcomes for Aboriginal people, in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

This position is operationally responsible to the Executive Team at Dubbo Health Service through the Aboriginal Health Unit Manager. You will be supported by your team, the multi-disciplinary team and the Aboriginal Health Leadership team from the strategic directorate.
