Where you'll be working
Across the Northern Sydney Local Health District

What you'll be doing
Undertake Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice, completed over 1 year. Under supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, provide appropriate health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker. 
  
Promote the well-being of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider communities and where possible, work in a holistic way to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Being of Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
  2. Willingness to undertake Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice to become a qualified Aboriginal Health Worker.
  3. Be able to work in a team environment as well as individually.
  4. Demonstrated oral and written and interpersonal communication skills.
