Role title:  Aboriginal Healthcare Practitioner

Role type:  Max term contract up to Sept 2026.  32 hours per week (after hours and weekend shifts)

Department and location:  Aboriginal Health Unit, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary: $69,410.24 - $90,357.24 + super + salary packaging, pro rata

About the role

  • Deliver culturally safe and holistic healthcare to Aboriginal people

  • Provide clinical care within the Emergency department, including assessment and intervention

  • Conduct and interpret various health assessments and procedures

  • Respond to crisis calls and provide intervention

  • Engage with Aboriginal communities and organisations to improve access to services

  • Collaborate on health service development, referrals, and community awareness initiatives

About you

  • Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent

  • Hold or be working towards a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice), leading to AHPRA registration

  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team to facilitate integrated care for Aboriginal people

  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to improving the health issues impacting on Aboriginal communities

  • Must be able to commit to 4 x 8 hour shifts 4pm to midnight, each Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
