About the Role
Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Camperdown.
The Aboriginal Mental Health Unit (AMHU) is based at Camperdown and is a small team providing culturally appropriate community and health centre based mental health consultations and coordinating care of Aboriginal Consumers of Mental Health Services. Care coordination is the main component of this model of care and includes extended care coordination, targeted packages of care and short term care coordination.

Ideal Candidate
- This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent. (An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977). Must hold a current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
- Recognised tertiary qualifications appropriate to profession. Full registration and eligibility for membership to professional association, as appropriate.
- Demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice.
