We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Level 3 Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Rehabilitation and Aged Care service at Port Kembla Hospital.
This exciting role focuses on community-based therapy through an outreach service. You'll have the opportunity to supervise junior rotational physiotherapists while leading service development and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring clinical excellence in outpatient and community physiotherapy services.
The successful applicant should have advanced clinical skills in frailty, falls prevention and ability to work closely with the multidisciplinary team.
Provide a high-quality specialist physiotherapy service to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced reasoning and practice skills and operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision.
Plan, coordinate and implement high levels of clinical expertise and specialised knowledge in their specialty to patients and carers of ISLHD in accordance with NSW Health, ISLHD and physiotherapy policies and procedures and standards.
Provide clinical supervision and support of Level 1 and 2 health professionals, technical and support staff, students and other staff as appropriate. Participate and assist with the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services.
May lead a consultative role within their area of expertise. They may also conduct clinical research and participate in the provision of clinical in-service education programs to staff and students.
May have an operational/supervisory role under the direction of the ISLHD Physiotherapy Head of Discipline or delegate and may be required to manage specific tasks or projects.
May be required to work across other sites within the District.

A little about us.
As a part of the new Shellharbour Hospital and Integrated Services Project, a new Community Health Centre is being built on the old Port Kembla Hospital site. Located on Dharawal Country, Warrawong Community Health Centre will bring together a range of services including community mental health, drug and alcohol, community nursing, and child and family services.
Until the new Community Centre is complete, some allied health services will continue to operate out of the Port Kembla Hospital site.
