The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the provision of compassionate and professional nursing care to all patients.
The Enrolled Nurse is the patient/client's advocate and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/ clients of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District consistent with the LHDs policies, procedures and standards.
The Enrolled Nurse works under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the registered Nurse for delegated functions. Professional development and active participation in the service Quality Improvement program are integral components of the role.
All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees.
The Enrolled Nurse without notation is to administer medications that are within their scope of practice.

ISLHD operate four hospital sites on Dharawal Country in the Illawarra: Coledale District Hospital, Bulli District Hospital, Wollongong Hospital and Shellharbour Hospital.
