About the Role

As the RPA Workforce Manager, you will be at a senior management level with the primary function of providing leadership, strategic direction and guidance in the development, integration, review and co-ordination of workforce management issues. Your role is crucial in managing organisational change through workforce and strategic planning, policies and programs whilst influencing outcomes to meet Workforce change objectives.

    

Within Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) policy and guidelines, and within the assigned portfolio, you will have the authority to resolve issues and make important workforce decisions based on legal, statutory and industrial standards incorporating but not limited to the following matters: employment, award compliance including remuneration, disciplinary action, grievances, discrimination, retraining and redeployment, and safety issues.

  

You will be responsible for:

  • The effective and efficient general management of the workforce function within the assigned portfolio to ensure the provision of a range of quality Workforce Services to meet the needs of the District.
  • Ensuring Work Health and Safety, Workers’ Compensation and Recovery at Work meet the respective legislative, policy and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Providing leadership and direction for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for employees.
  • Working in collaboration with managers and employees within their portfolio to ensure the strategic directions are met and will be responsible for the implementation of the strategic workforce initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive professional experience in human resources management at a senior level in a large diverse service industry organisation.
  • Ability to lead, develop, motivate and manage a professional workforce services team in the provision of the full range of Workforce services across a multisite business environment comprising diverse occupational streams to achieve corporate goals.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and problem-solving skills that enable sound decision making skills, timely responses, creative resolution-based approaches and the development of sound policies and/or strategies to address issues.
