About the Role

As a Wardsperson in the Medical Imaging Department at Calvary Mater Hospital, Newcastle, you’ll be an essential part of the patient care team.

In this varied and hands-on role, you’ll assist with:

  • Transferring and positioning patients with care and compassion
  • Moving patients safely using beds, trolleys, or wheelchairs
  • Transporting medical equipment and supplies between departments
  • Supporting nursing staff by ensuring patients’ belongings are correctly labelled and transported

You’ll work across several hospital departments including Wards, Emergency Department, Radiology, ICU, and Cath Lab, keeping you active and engaged throughout your shift. You’ll receive tasks via buzzing devices or computer systems, helping you stay organised and on the move. You'll join a small, close-knit team of six full-time staff, supported by a pool of experienced casual workers. This team is young, dynamic, and committed to helping each other grow. From Day One, you'll be welcomed, supported, and trained to thrive in your new role.
