As part of our team, you'll play an essential role in supporting patient care, maintaining a safe and clean hospital environment, and ensuring the wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Security Operations, you'll be responsible for supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of patient care services across the facility. This hands-on role combines patient support, portering, cleaning, and operational duties to help deliver safe, efficient healthcare services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with patient transfers, lifting and moving, and providing basic patient care and hygiene support.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness through routine and terminal cleaning, infection control practices, and linen management.
  • Transporting patients, pharmacy items, equipment and clinical materials throughout the hospital.
  • Maintaining cleaning equipment and ensuring essential supplies, including ward oxygen cylinders, are available and safe.
  • Supporting theatre cleaning and prioritising workloads to meet operational demands.
  • Completing cleaning and operational documentation accurately.
  • Assisting with the respectful transfer of deceased patients to the mortuary and supporting viewing arrangements when required.
  • Following all PPE, WHS, infection prevention and NSW Health policies while contributing to a safe workplace for everyone.

  • Eligible to drive in NSW and willing to travel for work.
