What you'll be doing
 

To provide best practice, high quality, patient-centred care that is evidence based in order to achieve quality patient outcomes. 
To engage in practices that promote the best possible health outcomes for patients and supports a culture of patient safety, clinical quality and innovation. 

To collaborate with clinical teams regarding patient management to enable delivery of high-quality clinical care. To provide clinical leadership and teaching by undertaking supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other staff to foster safe clinical practice. 
To actively promote and participate in patient safety, risk management and ongoing quality improvement programs to improve organizational processes and own practices. 

To maintain up-to-date College mandated requirements and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development. 


This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.  These awards are available at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.
 

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine and General Medicine, and/or eligible for specialist registration via overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Geriatric and General Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
