Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Visiting Medical Officer in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The Visiting Medical Officer in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery will be required to provide on call services and work through reducing ENT surgery waitlists. The Visiting Medical Officer will also provide Ear Nose and Throat surgical services to rural, regional or outreach communities, including outreach clinics through visiting surgeon arrangements, or telehealth-supported care models. The Visiting Medical Officer will have an understanding of the workforce and resource constraints particular to non-metropolitan surgical practice.
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised qualifications in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery (Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Position will be available from October 2026. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
