The Northern Surgical Skills Training Network (NSSTN) offers junior doctors a unique opportunity to gain diverse surgical experience, develop procedural skills, and build a strong foundation for future Surgical Education and Training (SET) applications. As one of seven (7) Surgical Skills Training Networks across NSW, NSSTN is dedicated to supporting surgically inclined doctors through structured clinical training, education, mentoring, and career development.
Our Network with placements available across leading metropolitan and regional hospitals, trainees benefit from exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties, critical care, and emergency medicine environments.

What you'll be doing
Merit Selection

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
To be employed by NSW Health, applicants must provide evidence of vaccination and comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive (PD2024_015). Compliance with this policy, including any amendments made from time to time, is a mandatory condition of employment.
Applicants will be required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status, immunity, and any other occupational health requirements relevant to the position. Evidence must be submitted and assessed in accordance with NSW Health requirements prior to commencement.
Working with Children Check
This position requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance issued by Service NSW. A current and valid WWCC is a mandatory requirement for appointment to this role.
Applicants who do not already hold a WWCC clearance will need to apply for one through Service NSW. A valid WWCC clearance must be maintained for the duration of employment.
