What you'll be doing

To provide effective Medical Services in the field of Neurology/General Medicine to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice.   
Training in Neurology encompasses stroke medicine, acute neurology, neuromuscular management, neurophysiology testing and interpretation, neuroradiology, neurogenetics and indigenous health care.
 
The trainee will be expected to participate in quality improvement and peer review processes of the Department of Neurology.
Candidates interested in an academic career are strongly encouraged with ample opportunities to be formally involved in the teaching of WSU medical students and involvement in the research activities of the School of Medicine.

  1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
  3. Adept ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services.
  4. Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
