- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated prior clinical neurosurgical experience. Proven ability to use sound neurosurgical clinical judgment under pressure with multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency) and judgment and expertise.
- Demonstrated interest in neurosurgical clinical issues, research and teaching of junior medical officers. Appropriate progress toward career goals.
- Demonstrated good organisational, time management skills and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Demonstrates teamwork and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
