Theatre Wardsperson – Play a Vital Role in Patient Care

Join a fast-paced Perioperative team where you'll play an essential role in supporting safe and efficient surgical services. As a Theatre Wardsperson, you'll prepare operating theatres, coordinate specialised equipment and supplies, maintain exceptional cleanliness in line with ACORN Standards, and ensure theatres are ready for every procedure.

Working alongside skilled healthcare professionals, you'll assist with patient transfers and positioning, support clinical staff during procedures, transport essential specimens and blood products, and help create a safe, organised environment that delivers outstanding patient care.

You'll be supported every step of the way through a comprehensive orientation program and ongoing on-the-job training, guided by experienced theatre staff and the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), providing the skills and confidence to thrive in this rewarding role.

Where you’ll be working:

The Armidale rural referral hospital Operating Theatres provides critical care services for the population of Armidale and surrounds, as well as being the referral centre for smaller centres within the tablelands cluster.

The Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Operating Theatres provides surgical services for the Armidale region. The Operating Theatres also strive to improve knowledge and provide best practice in the care of critically unwell patients and children through medical and nursing research, unit based educational programs and advocacy for patients. The Armidale RRH Operating Theatres provides critical care services for the population of Armidale and surrounds, as well as being the referral centre for smaller centres within the tablelands cluster. 

Armidale Operating Theatres consist of Three Theatres and an Endoscopy room, we have 2 to 3 list operating per day and the following surgery are below. 

Theatre One: Orthopaedics, Ophthalmic 
 

Theatre Two: General, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Emergencies  
 

Theatre Three: Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Urology, and Emergencies 

Procedure Room (Theatre 4): All Endoscopic procedures
