About the role:

The role of Technical Assistant within the Emergency Department is a dynamic and highly rewarding position that plays a vital part in supporting the clinical team to deliver safe, timely, and high-quality patient care. Working at the forefront of the Emergency Department, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing compassionate support and ensuring a calm, welcoming, and efficient experience from arrival through to treatment.

This role directly contributes to improved patient outcomes through timely assistance with diagnostics, streamlined support processes, and clear, respectful communication with patients throughout their care journey. A strong focus on early intervention and patient engagement ensures care is delivered efficiently and with empathy.

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to work both collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when required.

In this front-of-house role, you will work closely alongside the Clinical Initiatives Nurse and Triage Nurse, playing a key part in supporting efficient patient flow and contributing to the delivery of timely, high-quality care.

In addition, the Manning Emergency Department is supported by a dedicated full-time Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), who provides ongoing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. This strong educational support framework will assist you in building confidence, expanding your clinical knowledge, and further developing your skills within the department.
