What you'll be doing
In this senior operational leadership role, you will coordinate and enhance the delivery of elective surgical services across WSLHD, with direct responsibility for waitlist governance, performance and staff management at Westmead Hospital.
You will work with clinical, operational and executive leaders to ensure consistent, compliant and high-performing surgical access systems across the District.
Lead district-wide management of elective surgery waitlists and surgical patient flow
Manage and support surgical bookings and admissions teams, including staff at Westmead
Monitor, analyse and respond to performance indicators, including NEST targets
Standardise processes, reporting and governance for waiting list management across WSLHD
Partner with clinicians, executives and the Ministry of Health to ensure policy compliance, integrity and continuous improvement

Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a health related field, either administrative or clinical
Demonstrated record of high level leadership in health
Extensive knowledge of health care systems and sound understanding of contemporary issues within the NSW Health System with specific understanding of surgical patient management processes, including patient flow, operating theatre management, waiting list management and episode funding principles
Demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting staff through change
Demonstrated surgical waitlist management at a large facility
Well-developed interpersonal, communication (oral and written), conflict resolution, analytical and negotiation skills
Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office software, WLCOS and Hospital PAS systems
