Where you'll be working:
Picture starting your day where everyone knows your name, you’re welcomed with warm smiles, and your teammates are genuinely happy to see you – that’s the vibe in our Aged Care Services team in Taree.

You’ll be part of a friendly multidisciplinary crew including our Nurse Unit Manager, Allied Health colleagues, TACP staff, Aged Care Assessors and Psychogeriatric specialists – all working together to help older Australians live well and stay connected to what matters most to them.

And you definitely won’t be the “solo speechie”. You’ll have ongoing support from a fellow Speech Pathologist based at Wingham Community Hospital – a built-in buddy to bounce ideas off, share wins with and keep you feeling confident in your clinical decisions.

About the role:
This is a role where you really get to know your clients and see the difference you make. As our Speech Pathologist in Aged Care Services, your days will be a mix of:

  • meaningful assessments
  • practical, person-centred therapy
  • and the kind of small, everyday victories that remind you why you chose this profession in the first place

You’ll work across both hospital and community settings, so no two days will look the same. One day you might be supporting safe swallowing in the ward; the next you’re out in the community helping someone stay at home, communicating and participating in life on their terms.

You'll be backed by:

  • a supportive Aged Care Services Manager who’s hands-on and approachable
  • access to quality professional development
  • a team that genuinely wants to hear your ideas and cheer you on.

It’s a role with real variety, plenty of autonomy, and the stability and support to grow your skills and your career.

About you:
We're looking for someone who:

  • enjoys working with older people and/or in rehabilitation settings
  • can juggle a few things at once without losing your sense of humour
  • takes feedback in your stride and likes to keep learning
  • is comfortable working independently, but also loves having a team to lean on
  • holds a bachelor or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and is eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.

If you’re ready for a role where you’re supported, trusted and actually get to enjoy your workday, we’d love to hear from you.

What we can offer you:
At Hunter New England Health, enjoy a career where you're challenged by interesting work and surrounded by spectacular locations. Join the team enriching health in millions of ways every day:
