About the Role
As a key member of our 23-person Medical Imaging team, you will lead and manage a dedicated Ultrasound section comprising 7 skilled staff. You’ll deliver high-quality, patient-centred imaging services for the Tamworth region while ensuring optimal clinical outcomes.
Our department provides a comprehensive suite of services, including:
- General X-ray, Dental Imaging, Image Intensification
- Fluoroscopy, Mobile Imaging
- CT and Ultrasound
- Our Ultrasound suite offers obstetric, abdominal/pelvic, venous Doppler, limited musculoskeletal, and paediatric examinations.
- You will be supported by a cohesive, experienced team of clinical and administrative staff who will provide orientation, mentoring, education, and ongoing development opportunities.
About You
You are a motivated, skilled professional who thrives in a supportive team and brings a strong patient-first mindset. You will demonstrate:
Extensive experience in radiography (dental, theatre, trauma, paediatric)
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Proven ultrasound experience across abdominal, pelvic, small parts, obstetrics, vascular, and paediatric imaging
Strong patient engagement and a commitment to exceptional service delivery
High-level communication and report-writing skills
Strong prioritisation, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
Commitment to professional and ethical practice, particularly in complex clinical environments
NSW driver licence eligibility and willingness to travel as required
Willingness to supervise and support colleagues and students
A proactive approach to quality improvement and continuous learning
Flexibility to support other sites for training or service needs
Essential Requirements
Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent. Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/ current NSW EPA Radiation licence and ASAR accreditation
Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
Participate in the Rosters, overtime and on-call duties as required by the site, and which may change from time to time
Additional Information
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
