The Nepean Blue Mountains Health District offers a wide range of Medical Imaging (Radiology), Nuclear Medicine, and Nuclear Medical Therapy procedures through our various facilities/services with a goal to help diagnose, assess, and treat patient's injury or disease.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Radiographer to join the Medical Imaging Department at Nepean Hospital, one of New South Wales' largest and fastest-growing tertiary referral hospitals.

As a senior member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical imaging services while supporting service development, quality improvement, education and leadership across a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, patient-focused environment committed to excellence in healthcare delivery.

The Radiographer is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services and providing advanced clinical leadership within the department. The successful applicant will demonstrate expert clinical practice, mentor and support junior staff and students, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and promote safe, evidence-based patient care.

Working collaboratively with Radiologists, Medical Specialists, Nurses and Allied Health professionals, you will play an integral role in delivering timely and accurate diagnostic imaging services to support exceptional patient outcomes.
  
The post holder is primarily based at Nepean Hospital though may be required to rotate to BMDAMH to provide service cover as required. The role operates on a rotating shifts Monday to Friday, with some weekend on-call cover from 9:00am–9:00pm, ensuring continuity of service delivery.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Possess the following qualifications and registrations: 1. A Degree in Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography and a recognised Sonography qualification 2. Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. 3. I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA. 4. Registration with ASAR
  2. Demonstrated high standard of knowledge, clinical experience and proficiency in ultrasound across a broad range of examinations.
  3. An ability to supervise, instruct and mentor other MRS' and undergraduates.
  4. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
