About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Obstetric Sonographer to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU) at John Hunter Hospital, one of New South Wales' largest tertiary referral Maternal Fetal Medicine services.
In this role, you will perform a range of specialised obstetric ultrasound examinations, including early pregnancy, nuchal translucency, fetal morphology, growth and wellbeing, Doppler, cervical length and multiple pregnancy assessments, while supporting invasive prenatal procedures as required.
Working within a multidisciplinary team of Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, Obstetricians, Gynaecologists, Sonographers, Genetic Counsellors, Midwives and Allied Health professionals, you will provide expert diagnostic imaging that supports the care of women with complex pregnancies. You will be supported by experienced clinical leaders and a collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional maternal and fetal healthcare.

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU) and Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) at John Hunter Hospital are recognised leaders in providing specialised maternity and gynaecology care for women with high-risk and complex pregnancies.
As the tertiary referral service for Hunter New England Local Health District, the service supports women from across the Hunter, New England, Northern NSW and Mid North Coast regions, delivering expert fetal assessment, prenatal diagnosis and multidisciplinary management using contemporary ultrasound technology and evidence-based practice.

About you
You are an experienced, accredited Obstetric Sonographer who is passionate about maternal and fetal medicine and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
You combine advanced technical expertise with compassion, empathy and professionalism, recognising the sensitive nature of pregnancy and gynaecological care. You communicate confidently with patients, families and colleagues and thrive in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
You are motivated by opportunities to work with complex clinical presentations, contribute to service development and continuously expand your knowledge and skills within a specialised tertiary referral service.

Requirements
Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent. Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/ current ASAR accreditation.
Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
RANZCOG Nuchal translucency program accreditation or working towards
