This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.
Where You’ll Be Working
HNEkidsRehab delivers a specialist, medically led, multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation for children, young people and families within the Child Healthcare Network Northern.
Our service provides community-based and outpatient rehabilitation, supporting children with complex needs across a range of specialist clinics and intensive rehabilitation programs. You’ll be part of a dynamic and collaborative team of allied health and medical professionals, working together to deliver coordinated, family-centred care.
This role offers strong professional support, embedded supervision, and ongoing professional development, with opportunities to network across the district and with NSW tertiary paediatric rehabilitation services.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide evidence-based, client-centred social work services to children and families engaged in rehabilitation.
Your work will primarily take place in an outpatient and community-based clinic setting, including the Cerebral Palsy and Movement Disorders Clinic (held on Mondays). You will:
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments
Deliver tailored, evidence-based interventions
Collaborate closely with allied health and medical colleagues
Support children participating in specialist clinics and intensive rehabilitation blocks
Provide services across clinic, home and school environments to ensure holistic care
You will play a key role in supporting children requiring rehabilitation and strengthening outcomes for families through coordinated, team-based care.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and motivated Social Worker with a strong commitment to paediatric, family-centred care.
You will bring:
Experience in paediatric social work, ideally within rehabilitation and/or cerebral palsy services
A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive within a specialised multidisciplinary team
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to improving client outcomes
A genuine passion for working with children and their families

Requirements:
Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
