Who we are:
Coffs Harbour Located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane you’ll find the tranquil seaside nature destination of Coffs coast. Known for its beaches and the Big Banana monument and amusement park, a nature lovers’ paradise, surrounded by national parks and facing the solitary islands marine park, home to abundant wildlife, seasonal whales and coral reefs. Just east is the Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve, with its large population of wedge-tailed shearwater birds and learning centre The place of plenty offers uncrowded beaches, complemented with an abundance of activities and attractions, excellent shopping, fantastic accommodation and award winning food and drink. Coffs Harbour Health Campus is a leading regional facility focused on improving health outcomes for the population of approximately 81,000 it services. The hospital is a level five teaching hospital for medicine, nursing, and allied health and also acts as a hub for health research in the region. We are proud to be teaching the clinicians of tomorrow. A 357-bed service, CHHC treats nearly 45,000 emergency presentations each year, including patients with a range of serious and life-threatening conditions such as burns and serious trauma. Coffs Harbour Health Campus is the major referral centre for residents of Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Valley local government areas. The hospital provides a broad range of general and specialist services including general medicine, general surgery, specialist medicine and surgical services, day surgery, planned and emergency operating theatre surgical services. The Hospital also has a coronary care unit (including coronary angiography unit), a large intensive care unit, obstetrics, paediatrics, a 24- hour Emergency Department, oncology, palliative care, stroke, acute renal dialysis, mental health services (including high dependency) and outpatient clinics. In addition to operating a large acute hospital we offer sub-acute services including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, a regional psychiatric service, specialist clinics, dialysis and a range of outreach services. Patients requiring neurosurgery or heart surgery are transferred to other facilities for these procedures. A rooftop helipad facilitates aeromedical transfers and patient retrieval.

What you'll be doing
Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to individual’s needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person’s journey.
The In reach / Outreach / Brief Intervention (IOBI) multidisciplinary team will provide brief intervention for clients accessing AOD services and will also provide in reach and outreach services. The In-Reach component will bring the team's community expertise into the hospital care setting. The outreach component will work with individuals with ongoing AOD issues who have had experiences that have impacted them to engage with services.
Provide an effective and efficient Social Work/Counselling/Psychologist service that addresses the psychosocial aspects of care for patients receiving substance use treatment including providing support, education and resources as required.
