What you'll be doing
The Occupational Therapist (OT) position is responsible for providing a specialist OT support to the vulnerable families within the Sustaining NSW Families Program through high level clinical consultation, advocacy, education, and support to the Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) team. This includes consultation with individual clinicians as well as collaborative input into team case conferencing.
The OT will contribute high level clinical expertise to case planning, case management as a part of the multidisciplinary health team and during case review/discussion meetings. The position works through consultation/liaison to the nurse home visitor rather than direct service provision. The position involves working with families with complex issues and the potential exposure to trauma.

- Recognised Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Extensive experience working in relevant clinical settings providing assessment and interventions in paediatric Occupational Therapy for children with developmental difficulties/diagnoses.
- Demonstrated experience working in family partnership to respond to the needs of vulnerable families and the CALD community.
- Extensive experience in providing clinical consultation and facilitating case reviews/conferences, with use of well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and databases.
- Current unrestricted drivers licence and the willingness to use for work purposes.
