SESLHD- Senior Aboriginal Health Outreach Worker
Selection Criteria
- To be a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-discrimination Act 19.
- Holds or aspires to hold a minimum III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Workers works and relevant experience in the delivery of Aboriginal Health Programs.
- Demonstrated highly developed skills in oral and written communication and computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to inform and support the development of Aboriginal health programs/services and their implementation.
- Ability to engage with Aboriginal organisations, mainstream health services, NGO's and government services.
- Comprehensive understanding of challenges and barriers related to Aboriginal health, particularly around chronic disease.
- Demonstrated experience in case management or care coordination working with Aboriginal families.
