The NSW Sexual Health Infolink (SHIL) is a statewide nurse-led service providing information, clinical support, referral, contact tracing and support for disease management through advice, care coordination and linkage to appropriate services relating to HIV, sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBVs). SHIL works collaboratively with the Ministry of Health, Centre for Population Health, Publicly Funded Sexual Health Services, General Practice, NGOs and community stakeholders to support sexual health and BBV prevention and management across NSW. 
  
The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 3 (CNC3) is responsible for providing advanced clinical service delivery, consultancy, planning and leadership across SHIL's statewide programs and services. The role provides clinical leadership, education, workforce development and clinical supervision to the SHIL nursing workforce, contributes to service development and strategic initiatives, and supports the implementation of clinical governance, quality improvement and evidence-based practice across SHIL.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  2. Minimum seven years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least five years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  3. Demonstrated advanced communication, consultation and interpersonal skills, including experience providing clinical support and advice to healthcare providers and demonstrated expertise in complex HIV, STI and BBV management, contact tracing and partner notification.
  4. Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice through the initiation, utilisation, and review of evidence-based research.
  5. Demonstrated leadership in clinical service planning, workforce development, service improvement and change management initiatives, including experience providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to nursing staff.
  6. Proven advanced skills in clinical teaching and workforce development, including the ability to develop and evaluate education programs.
  7. Proven clinical expertise in HIV, STI and BBV management, including complex clinical consultancy, contact tracing and partner notification, with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and achieve outcomes.
  8. Proven ability to produce comprehensive and effective reports.
