John Hunter Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated senior leader to join our Medical & Interventional Services (M&IS) Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our community.
About The Role:

As a key member of the M&IS Leadership Team, the successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio of medical and interventional specialties. You will champion excellence across all disciplines, driving continual improvement in clinical practice, service delivery, patient safety, and health outcomes.

This role carries overarching responsibility and accountability for the operational management of Medical & Interventional Services at John Hunter Hospital. You will lead the vision, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of M&IS to ensure the efficient, effective, and timely delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing senior leadership and direction across all Medical & Interventional Services.
  • Leading strategic planning, service development, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care is delivered consistently and reliably.
  • Building and sustaining collaboration across diverse professional groups and organisational partners.
  • Overseeing operational performance, workforce planning, and resource management.
  • Embedding a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with the M&IS Leadership Team and the John Hunter Hospital Executive to achieve organisational priorities and strategic goals.
