- Must be a person of Aboriginal descent who has a demonstrated ability to work with and earn the trust and respect of Aboriginal people, communities and organisations. This includes the ability to consult and negotiate with senior stakeholder representatives on complex issues of a sensitive nature
- Proven management experience at a senior level within the area of aboriginal mental health and demonstrated excellent strategic planning, policy and service development, and financial management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal mental health care practices and principles
- Demonstrated experience developing complex correspondence, including ministerial briefs, business cases, models of care, strategic plans and policy.
- Proven innovative problem-solving skills and experience in the management and resolution of workforce matters and/or industrial relations matters in complex health environments
- Proven high level interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills demonstrating the ability to motivate and engage a multi-disciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for Aboriginal patients.
