About the Opportunity 
This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and dynamic physiotherapy department in a tertiary hospital, currently undergoing major redevelopment. The role will work as the Women’s Mens and Pelvic Health senior clinician, in a job share capacity, in outpatients, gynaecology and antenatal and postnatal clinics, and will support the inpatient antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology wards.

 

What You'll be Doing
The senior Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist is responsible for providing a high quality women’s and men’s health physiotherapy service to both inpatients and outpatients at Liverpool Hospital. This includes service evaluation and development and use of advanced reasoning and practice skills in the management of women’s and men’s health patients of complex nature, and works in specialized multidisciplinary clinics. This position is also responsible for the supervision, teaching and training of new graduate and rotational Level 1/2 Physiotherapists.

 

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  1. Current Physiotherapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 
  2. Relevant clinical experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of a complex physiotherapy caseload.
  3. Demonstrated experience in supervision and teaching of staff and/or students.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidence based practice.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement, research and service development activities.
  6. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  8. Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in the physiotherapy management of: Antenatal and postnatal conditions, Musculoskeletal conditions related to pregnancy, Incontinence, Gynaecological conditions, Acute postnatal management, Acute post gynaecological surgery.
