What you'll be doing

  • The High Risk Foot Service (HRFS) Podiatrist is responsible for the effective management of the High Risk Foot Services. This role is responsible for providing quality specialised clinical services to a diverse and complex caseload involving clients with diabetes related high risk feet conditions. This includes those with ulceration, infection, neuroarthropathy and amputation. The complexity of these clients requires a high level of clinical expertise, knowledge and advanced reasoning and practice skills.
  • This Position will work with an Endocrinologist and Vascular Surgeon to provide services to the Blacktown and surrounding community. The position will be required to collaborate in the planning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting on clinical service delivery development, practise and redesign.

  • Registration: Current AHPRA Registration: Allied Health Professional

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated clinical knowledge and extensive postgraduate experience in the management of high risk foot pathology (including ulceration, infection, neuroarthropathy, and post-amputation management).
  2. Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and set priorities in complex situations.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to research and quality improvement, with the ability to contribute to planning, implementation and evaluation of services.
  4. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.
  5. Evidence of ability to build and maintain co-operative professional and therapeutic relationships with key stakeholders and patients through the application of well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Commitment to participating in and providing ongoing professional development in the area of high risk foot pathology, utilising evidence based practice.
  7. Licence: Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
