About the Role

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides a comprehensive range of clinical services to the residents of Sydney Local Health District and has specialised areas of practice in Renal and Hepatic organ transplant, Haematology and stem cell transplant, cardiology and specialised surgery. The pharmacy department also provides a clinical trials, outpatient and production unit service. 

  

The opportunity exists for a suitable candidate to join the dynamic Pharmacy Department at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as the Senior Pharmacist - Inventory Manager. The role is offered as a permanent fulltime position and reports to the Deputy Director of Pharmacy. Opportunities for a job share will be considered. Responsibilities include the efficient distribution of medicines throughout the facility, the management of the Pharmacy Stores staff and a light clinical or operational role as requested by the Director of Pharmacy which may including supporting PBS claim and Medicare activities. The position requires close liaison with the Director of Pharmacy and all other senior staff of the department.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has full registration with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions on scope of practice.
  • Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice, preferably in a large teaching hospital, including experience managing the provision of pharmacy services in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Standards.
  • Proven ability and commitment to effectively role model, champion and promote teamwork, manage and develop staff and the ability to recognise and develop talent, build co-operation and overcome barriers to teamwork, communication and collaboration.
