Remuneration: $137,103.88 - $140,813.78 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing
The purpose of this position is to support the management of the Medication Safety Program across Westmead Hospital, with responsibilities to: 

  • Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the wards/units in Westmead Hospital. This includes the provision of training, supervision, guidance and mentorship to support the clinical pharmacists. 
  • Support the Westmead Hospital Safe Use of Medicines (SUM) & Standard 4 Committee to improve the quality and safe use of medicines and participate in the development and implementation of evidence-based quality improvement initiatives that can be monitored against national accreditation standards. 
  • Lead the development and review of drug-related documents to enhance medication safety and patient outcomes

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by Tertiary Education Institutions e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy. Must satisfy Grade 3  classification as per Health Employees Pharmacists (State) Award. 
  • Registration: Full and unrestricted Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA 

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with people at all levels of the organisation. Demonstrated excellent written skills.
  2. Demonstrated experience in clinical hospital pharmacy practice or equivalent extensive clinical experience.
  3. Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles to clinical practice.
  4. Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change

  7. Demonstrated skills in information technology: using computer applications including dispensing, database management, developing and analysis of reports, accessing medicine information, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
