Lead, manage and deliver advanced occupational therapy, building recovery‑focused pathways for consumers with complex mental health needs.

Remuneration: $58.95 - $60.86 per hour

Based at Blacktown Hospital, the Assertive Response Team operates within a vibrant, culturally diverse and rapidly expanding community. This service delivers intensive, recovery‑oriented mental health care across hospital and community settings.

What you'll be doing 
As an Occupational Therapist Level 3, you will provide expert clinical services while leading and supporting occupational therapy practice across acute and community mental health settings.

In this senior role, you will:

  • Deliver advanced, evidence‑based OT interventions within a recovery framework

  • Independently manage complex caseloads and provide specialist consultation

  • Lead assessment, intervention and evaluation of individual and group programs

  • Provide clinical supervision, student coordination and professional leadership

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe transitions and recovery

Essential Requirements:

Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapist
Registration: Current full registration with the Australian Health Practioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated mental health experience in the use of Standardised Occupational Therapy Assessment tools.

  2. Demonstrated experience in evidence based service provision and commitment to recovery based programs, implementation and evaluation.

  3. Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation in their treatment and care plan development, working with families and carers.

  4. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, and time management skills.

  5. Demonstrated experience in student co-ordination and commitment to supervision of students, implementing education programs and liaison with University placement coordinators.

  6. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, organise work in an effective manner and maintain partnerships.

  7. Current NSW Drivers Licence valid in Australia.
