About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.

NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

Join a groundbreaking initiative that’s changing the way mental health crises are addressed in the community. The Suicide Prevention Outreach Team (SPOT) Clinician will work in equal partnership with a Peer Worker and in close collaboration with NSW Police (Blue Mountains Police Area Command) to deliver a compassionate, trauma-informed response to individuals experiencing acute psychological distress and suicidal crisis. As a secondary response service, SPOT is activated by frontline police to provide rapid, person-centered mental health support directly in homes or preferred community settings, ensuring care is accessible, respectful, and tailored to the needs of each individual.

This role requires advanced clinical expertise, sound judgement, and leadership in mental health and psychosocial assessment, safety planning, and brief interventions. You’ll play a vital role in stabilisation, early engagement, and linking individuals with outpatient and community services, while also supporting families, carers, and friends. With strong connections to local health networks including Mental Health Teams and GPs, SPOT is a collaborative model built on empathy and empowerment.

This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact, bringing hope, dignity, and expert care to those who need it most. Apply Now!
