About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The primary purpose of the role is to manage brain banking activities of the RPA Department of Neuropathology, including the Australian Sports Brain Bank, Australian Veterans Brain Bank, MS Australia Brain Bank and Neurological Brain Bank (alongside relevant University staff as needed). This includes overall managerial responsibilities, database management, as well as implementation of new and existing brain banking procedures.
To provide high level expert advice on all aspects of biobanking to the SLHD Chief executive.

Ideal Candidate
- Has minimum level of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Science, Pathology, Medicine, or a related field from a recognised tertiary institution.
Proven experience in biobanking (preferably brain banking) and demonstrated experience in operating within the framework of the NSW Human Tissue Act and/or other relevant state legislations.
