We are seeking a skilled Workforce Data Analyst to join our analytics team, supporting workforce insight and decision-making across the state. This role will suit an analytical thinker who enjoys working with complex data and transforming it into meaningful, high-quality insights, reports and visualisations.
You will work primarily in Power BI, supported by strong SQL and Excel capability, to design, build, test and refine solutions that support leaders, stakeholders and operational teams. The role contributes to the development of reliable workforce data, improved reporting consistency, and enhanced capability across the organisation.
Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
- Develop, refine and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using multiple data sources, ensuring outputs are accurate, accessible and actionable.
- Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data used for reporting and workforce analysis.
- Conduct detailed data testing, validation and quality assurance across data pipelines, back-end logic and dashboard functionality.
- Analyse results using statistical and data analysis techniques to identify trends, insights and operational opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and escalate risks and dependencies where necessary to ensure deliverables remain on track and fit for purpose.
About you
You will be a motivated and analytical professional who brings a mix of technical capability, data literacy and a commitment to high-quality reporting and improvement. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience delivering data analysis and reporting solutions using Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development.
- Strong SQL skills for extracting, transforming and validating data from multiple sources.
- Well-developed capability in analysing and interpreting complex workforce, operational or business datasets to generate actionable insights.
- A structured and methodical approach to testing, data quality assurance and documentation, with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at different levels, managing priorities, risks and expectations in a dynamic environment.
