Senior Substance Use in Pregnancy & Parenting Clinician

Mental Health Drug and Alcohol - Dubbo

 

About the role


Provision of services to women in Dubbo and surrounding regional communities who are pregnant or caring for an infant up to 2 years of age and who are using substances at a level that meets the threshold for a specialist drug and alcohol service.

 

The SUPPS Clinician will cover the spectrum of screening, assessment, treatment, and management for substance use with priority for services based on severity of substance use and/or complex management of family and other social issues that impact on the care of the infant. Completing assessments; developing treatment plans; report writing, advocacy skills; case management skills; counselling skills; knowledge of trauma informed care.

Interpersonal skills; cultural competence; self-care; active listener.

 

It will work closely with Maternity Services, Child, and Family Strategy services, and the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service to provide specialist D&A treatment services to women who are pregnant or caring for an infant. The Clinician will also collaborate with other key service providers, both government and non-government, and will be expected to supervise, educate and mentor to build local capacity.

 

You will be working with likeminded people who are dedicated to providing the best evidence-based treatment to clients, scheduling counselling appointments, case management and court reports.

 

Working hours are Monday – Friday – 8.30am – 1700.
