About the Role

This role is based at the Charles Perkins Centre at Sydney University

InsideOut Institute is the central leadership and management point for all NSW Ministry of Health related eating disorder activities in NSW. InsideOut Institute is funded by the NSW Ministry for Health and is housed at the University of Sydney in collaboration with Sydney LHD. The purpose of this position is to provide Statewide specialist clinical advice and leadership in service planning, treatment pathways and treatment programs to improve the care for people with an eating disorder across NSW. 
  
The position is part of the Statewide Team within InsideOut Institute and the role provides senior clinical advice and leadership in the implementation of the NSW Service Plan. This includes support for Eating disorder coordinators in each LHD across the state in implementing the service plan locally, supporting LHDs to embed best-practice approaches and evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, consultation and contribution to development of statewide guidelines and MoC under the service plan and progressing the service plan implementation. The position also plays a role in advising InsideOut Institute on clinical matters.
  
The Senior Clinical Psychologist will participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of Eating Disorders Service Plan across NSW, assist in the development and provision of education and training programs, and will be expected to support eating disorders coordinators where appropriate. The position will support InsideOut to develop and deliver high quality training materials, processes, structures, clinical services and resources to improve clinical practice and support the implementation of the NSW Service Plan for People with Eating Disorders (2020-2025).

Ideal Candidate

  • Current registration to practice as a psychologist with AHPRA, must hold a post graduate degree in clinical psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD), endorsement in clinical psychology and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and ACPA.
  • Demonstrated specialist clinical knowledge of eating disorder management, treatment, evidence base and policy with extensive direct clinical experience managing a broad range of eating disorder cases and settings, including demonstrated complex clinical case management.
  • High level written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at different levels with multiple stakeholders i.e. from consumers to LHD executives to the Ministry of Health.
